Show where the two hair colours meet

Two colour names do not tell a stylist whether the character look has a split, a streak or a gradual transition. A plain region drawing can clarify that question before product selection. Keep the chosen source version visible and preserve any established colour placement; this is a communication method, not permission to change the character’s identity or design.

Define the regions before choosing swatches

On a clean view of the selected hairstyle, mark the region belonging to each colour. Use neutral labels such as region A and region B during the first pass so names do not distract from placement. Identify whether the reference shows the back and the hidden side clearly. Leave unknown continuations unresolved instead of assuming symmetry. A small accent streak and a full half-head colour block ask different questions even when they use the same pair of colours.

Make the transition visible in the intended frame

Put the region drawing into the planned front or angled portrait. Notice whether the colour boundary is visible, hidden behind another hair group or outside the crop. Compare a separate close view when the transition is central to the project. Do not decide that the actual colour is wrong when the selected angle simply hides most of its region. Keep placement, camera view and colour matching as three questions rather than changing all of them at once.

Give the stylist a precise unresolved question

Bring the region view, exact product candidates and any suitable labelled samples to the relevant stylist or supplier. Ask what supplied forms could support the selected arrangement and what remains uncertain. Do not infer a physical colouring or attachment method from the illustration. The useful brief can say that a narrow accent needs to remain visible beside the face in the main portrait, which is clearer than asking for more of the second colour somewhere.
