Keep two cameras’ files distinguishable at delivery

Two cameras can produce filenames that look the same while containing different costume pictures. Plan a distinguishable handoff before the files enter one review folder. This is an original organisation method, not a claim that a particular naming scheme provides backup or protects data; follow the team’s actual storage and transfer process.

Give each actual source a simple stable label

Choose a short source identifier for each camera or photographer that is appropriate to share. Keep private personal information out of filenames. Record which source produced which original files without relying on capture time alone, since the team may not have verified clock agreement. A label such as source A is useful only when the recipient can trace it to the real source through the agreed project record.

Show the collision with an invented example

Suppose two fictional sources both supply IMG_0100. Distinguishable review copies could use A_IMG_0100 and B_IMG_0100 while retaining the original-name mapping. Agree the actual convention with the photographer rather than renaming a live catalogue or moving originals casually. Keep the extension and file type accurate. A renamed preview should not be mistaken for the original raw file simply because its visible basename has been preserved.

Use the complete reference in feedback and selection

When the wearer chooses a picture or asks for a revision, use the complete source-aware name and the relevant revision. Verify the exact selected file before export. If a later handoff adds another source, extend the convention without reusing an existing label ambiguously. Keep the final selection list small and traceable. The goal is for an editor to open the intended picture immediately instead of guessing which near-identical number the message meant.
