Choose the backdrop for the portrait, then check the packed size
A backdrop can be easy to store and still be too narrow for a wide costume. It can also cover a portrait while requiring support equipment absent from the chosen pack. Compare the picture, the working setup and the packed object as three separate parts of the purchase.
Start with the costume’s widest intended framing
Choose whether the background must cover a headshot, a seated portrait or a complete costume with extended features. Sketch the intended framing and discuss the needed coverage with the photographer. A backdrop’s labelled height is not the same as a guarantee of full-body coverage in every setup. Compare solid and patterned options against the wig and costume palette. A busy printed scene may compete with the outfit, while a plain surface can leave more attention on the wearer. Choose for this picture rather than assuming a themed background automatically creates a better character portrait.
Ask about open and packed dimensions
Read the exact product’s open dimensions and its documented packed size and weight.
