SANJIESAN COSPLAY / Wig lengths
Where does the wig’s length start?
A wig described by one length may still leave you unsure where its front, back or longest strand will fall. Ask how the maker measures it before turning that number into a styling plan. Your desired endpoint on the wearer is a useful reference, but it is not automatically the same measurement.
Locate the stated start and endpoint
Read the product’s measurement explanation and identify whether the number concerns the longest hair, a particular area or another defined measure. Preserve that definition in your comparison rather than transferring one retailer’s method to another. Ask about front and back views if the design relies on their difference. Do not calculate your necessary purchase length from a cropped promotional photograph. Keep the base style and product reference beside the measurement, since two wigs with the same headline number may present quite different shapes around the face.
Describe the target on the wearer
Use an appropriate reference photograph or drawing to mark where the desired front and back sections should appear relative to the costume. Keep the wearer’s posture and view consistent in comparisons. This visual endpoint helps a maker understand the brief, but it does not certify how much unstyled fibre a particular result requires. If cutting or another irreversible operation is contemplated, resolve that with the relevant product instructions and a competent styling plan first. Do not treat an assumed extra allowance as a universal rule for every texture and style.
Keep the unaltered base visible in the decision
Compare the available base with the desired result using clearly different labels. Ask what is supplied as standard and what depends on additional work or separate pieces. If an essential length or construction answer is missing, keep the choice open. Save the seller’s reply with the exact style and colour option before ordering or altering. A clear length question can prevent the wrong kind of purchase without pretending to have tested the product. The useful outcome is a shared definition of the number and the target, not merely agreement that the wig looks long enough in one image.
